2010 World Cup
« on: June 19, 2010, 02:03:20 pm »
Anyone keeping a close eye on the teams in the world cup? I've been quite interested in it as it seems that some of the big name teams are struggling and some of the smaller less fancied teams are getting surprising results putting them in contention for the quarter finals.

England have been dreadful the last few games they have played (quals and friendlies) and was certainly no better against the USA, and the less said about the Algeria game last night the better. It was terrible. As usual, England perform in the qualifying stages with record equalling stats, but when they actually get to the big stage, they let themselves down. it's a shame really.

I've made a prediction on who i think will be in the final, i'm going for Germany v's Brazil (although Brazil looked off pace and Germany seen to have stumbled the other day)

It's certainly shaping up to be an interesting tournament  :)

I'm going to stick my neck out on this one - on current form the final is going to be Netherlands & Argentina!
What do we all think?
Cheers

It's official, Fabio Capello lives in a dream world.

In the post match interview he claimed 'England played well'.

What match was he watching? Saying the back 4 were a total shambles is being polite.

Just a guy stumbling through life !

agreed Steve, i had just returned from a photoshoot and they had the game on in the coach station, i sat and watched it with a crowd of people there and the things i saw were just awful, Englands 'golden Generation'? more like Older Generation. I don't want to see Capello leave or be sacked, i want to see him now make major changes in English football and using Euro 2012 qualifications as a platform, build a young England team, and start breading new talent, I can handle a few losses, i can handle a slip down the FIFA world rankings, I'd rather face those possibilities than rely on a bunch of crocks and old players who clearly aren't up for the game anymore. Lets see young blood come through the ranks me thinks  :)

well, this is interesting

England = OUT
France = OUT
Italy = OUT
Argentina = OUT
Brazil = OUT

surprising names out this year so early on, i've always predicted that it would be a Germany/Brazil final, but after yesterday that went out the window, now, to the tricky part, who will win the world cup? difficult choice, but (and it hurts to say this) but i think Germany will go on and win the WC  ;)

Discuss peeps ;)

I'm supporting Netherlands now, I think they deserve it.
